I LOVE rhubarb and soon it will be ready for the picking! I still have some frozen from last year so I am using it up before the new season begins. Today I will be making some rhubarb-bars for the Geezers tomorrow. Also considering rhubarb coffeecake for this weekend (gearing up for the beginning of the tourist season). I was listening to podcasts this weekend and they were discussing rhubarb galettes, which sound like a lovely idea as well. Hmmm... maybe I need to look around for some other ideas

Spring IS Coming!

I know this deep in my heart, time of year its sometimes hard to remember through all of the gray.  Mother Nature has been giving little glimpses.

Growing up in "Tulip Country" I never thought I would say this, but thank God for daffodils.  I do appreciate the amazing array of colors that tulips bring to the fields  (and to our economy), but a yellow daffodil in February or March has got to be sweeter.  They have been picking the field of daffs across the street for a month now and today I noticed that field is starting to show some color.

The camellia that started to bloom pink right before the last snow (and subsequently turned brown) is now in full pink bloom.

And the best part is our new kids, this is Linda:
